From the south:
Take I-91 north to second Northampton exit (Route 9). Take right at bottom of ramp onto Rte. 9 east. After roughly 4 miles Rte. 9 becomes a four lane road (for the second time) with malls on your right. A little ways up you will see an “Entering Amherst” sign on your right. Go to second stoplight after the sign and turn left onto South Pleasant St. and refer to map from here (you will be at position 1 on the map)
From the north:
Take I-91 south to exit for Rte.116 (third or fourth exit after entering Mass.). Take left off the ramp and take next right. Follow a little ways until Rte.116 South takes a left turn at light. Follow for several miles (10 or more) until road becomes a four lane. Take UMass exit. Take left at end of ramp toward UMass. (Massachusetts Ave). Follow straight through campus until road takes a sweeping right curve at a light and becomes North Pleasant Street. Go through next stop light and take next right (which just keeps you on North Pleasant St, although it does not appear that way). Follow map (you are at position 2).
From the east
Take route 9 West to intersection of Rts. 9 & 116 this places you at position 1 on the map. Or take Mass Pike west to Palmer exit and follow signs to Amherst. At intersection of Rts. 9 & 116 you are at position 1 on the map.
From the west
Take Rte 9 east toward Amherst and follow directions in "from the south" above.
